Song Detect Panel

Combine manual lookup with auto identification, silence gating, music-change detection, and genre auto-switching. Most downstream automation depends on this panel.

Song Detect Panel

Overview

The Song Detect panel is the core area that wires ACRCloud-based song recognition into AUTOVJCLUB and forwards the result to the MV layer, lyrics engine, and genre-driven source switching. Each lookup sends a short microphone sample for identification, and on a hit, the title, artist, and genre information become available to the rest of the app. Demo can use the full lookup pipeline — including Auto Identify and Music Change detection — but the total number of recognitions is capped at 50. Beyond that cap, either upgrade to Event Pass or buy a one-shot demo reset (¥500) to restore the counter.

The standard interval for Auto Identify is 60 seconds. Pulling that down to 15 to 30 seconds can multiply the effective ACRCloud cost by roughly 4×, which matters especially in long venue sessions; 60 seconds is the recommended baseline. Music Change detection watches key and tempo to trigger an additional lookup at song boundaries, which complements Auto Identify by catching transitions between scheduled intervals without burning extra API calls. Enabling genre auto-switch makes the curated source group switch automatically based on the recognized genre.

Control Reference

Mic-not-active notice

When the Audio panel's REC is off, the entire panel dims and shows a notice asking to turn REC on. Controls do not respond until the mic is live.

Lookup button

Triggers a single manual recognition. Disabled when the Demo limit (50 lookups) is reached, with a hover tooltip explaining the limit. While Auto Identify is running, the button gets a slow pulse and an AUTO badge. During identification it displays "Listening...".

Listening badge (during identification)

A pulsing badge that indicates audio is being sent to ACRCloud right now.

Recognition result card

Shows artwork, title, and artist for the matched song. When the result is not_found, a warning text appears instead.

Auto Lookup switch

Toggles automatic recognition. When on, the interval slider next to it becomes editable. Demo can use it, but the switch is disabled once the 50-lookup cap is reached.

Auto Identify interval slider (15–120 s, 5 s step)

Stored internally in milliseconds; displayed in seconds. Default is 60 s. Shortening this scales the ACRCloud cost roughly linearly.

Silence gate switch

Suppresses Auto Identify firing during silence. When on, the threshold slider and auto-pause selector below become available.

Silence threshold slider (0.01–0.10, 0.005 step)

Below this RMS value, the input is treated as silence and recognition is skipped.

Auto Pause selector (Off / 1 min / 5 min / 10 min)

After this duration of continuous silence, Auto Identify pauses to avoid wasting API calls during breaks.

Silence pause banner

Top banner that appears while Auto Identify is paused due to silence.

HP Filter switch

Applies a high-pass filter to reduce low-end noise and emphasize the vocal range, improving recognition accuracy.

Adaptive Search switch + capture duration display

Adapts capture length (default 10 s) based on input level. When on, the current capture duration (for example 8s) is displayed inline.

Music Change Detect switch

Watches a novelty score for key / tempo changes and triggers an extra lookup when the threshold is crossed. Demo can use it, but the switch is disabled once the 50-lookup cap is reached. A "Detected" badge appears for three seconds after a hit; otherwise the current novelty value (for example 1.4x) is shown.

Music Change sensitivity slider (0–100%, 5% step, Music Change on)

Detection sensitivity. Lower means only obvious changes fire; higher means subtle shifts also trigger.

Genre Auto Switch

Sends the recognized genre to the Source panel for automatic curated playlist switching. Available in Demo as well.

When To Use It

The most reliable approach is to make manual lookup hit consistently before turning on any automation. Use the 50 free Demo lookups to find the best mic position and input gain — that is enough for home practice and short verification, while live venue use should rely on Event Pass. Keep Auto Identify at 60 seconds; if hits are still inconsistent, revisit the input level in the Audio panel rather than shortening the interval, because lowering the interval is a much more expensive way to compensate for poor input.
