Overview

The Display panel is the gateway to live output mode. It is visually small, but operationally critical because it controls the transition into VJ mode and fullscreen display. Once in VJ mode, the visual layer is detached from the splash and control UI and focuses on the external output.

For multi-display setups, when the Window Management API is available the panel can fullscreen each connected display independently. This makes the projector-plus-confidence-monitor pattern straightforward: control stays on the laptop, while the projector receives only the visuals.

Control Reference

START VJ button (before entering VJ mode)

Large central button. Clicking it enters VJ mode and rearranges the screen around the main output. After this it does not reappear.

Fullscreen button (in VJ mode, single screen)

Toggles fullscreen for the current screen. While fullscreen, the same button switches to "Exit Fullscreen" with an inverted icon (expand ↔ contract).

Per-screen buttons (in VJ mode, multiple displays + Window Management API)

One button per connected display, each labeled with its name and resolution (e.g. Display 2 1920x1080). Click to fullscreen that specific display. This is the path used for projector output.

Collapse arrow (not present here)

Display does not support collapsing and is always visible.

When To Use It

Before opening a venue, it is worth doing one fullscreen transition test with the actual display chain connected. For multi-display use, make sure browser Window Management permission is granted ahead of time; missing the permission dialog silently falls back to single-screen mode. On macOS, fullscreen behavior also depends on Spaces settings, so testing the transition at swap time prevents accidentally jumping to the wrong workspace.
