The order-of-operations problem beginners hit
A common pattern when someone wants to start VJing is getting stuck on which decision to make first: pick the software, pick the gear, or collect the clips. Each path requires different information, so it is easy to stall before any of them is resolved.
Dedicated VJ software is powerful and expressive, but tends to require more upfront learning. Spending tens of thousands of yen on something you have not yet confirmed fits your use case is also a real barrier.
autovjclub specializes in just running visuals in a browser. It lets you defer the software, gear, and clip-library decisions while you confirm whether VJing fits your workflow at all.
What autovjclub removes from the first step
- No installation step
- Open app.autovj.club in a recent Chrome, Safari, or Edge. There is no OS-specific installer or license management to deal with first.
- Demo runs without sign-in
- The demo runs without a Google account. If it does not fit, the only cost is closing the tab.
- Default visual library is included
- Pixabay-licensed clips are bundled by genre, so visuals start playing without you sourcing material first.
- Automatic switching based on song recognition
- Mic input drives genre recognition, which switches the active preset. You can watch how it behaves before deciding to take manual control.
- Remote control from a phone
- Output runs on the PC; adjustments can come from a separate device. Useful when you do not want to be tied to the laptop on site.
What autovjclub does not cover
- Live VJ improvisation
- Reassembling clips on the fly to match an unfolding set is a strength of Resolume, TouchDesigner, and similar tools. autovjclub plays back arranged presets.
- Frame-accurate MIDI/OSC sync
- Tight integration with lighting boards, DJ mixers, or hardware controllers is out of scope. The runtime input is audio only.
- Projection mapping
- Non-rectangular surfaces and immersive installations belong to TouchDesigner, Notch, or MadMapper. autovjclub assumes flat displays.
FAQ
Can I really use it without signing in?
Yes — the demo starts without a Google account. Sign-in is only needed when you want to save settings to the cloud.
Can I run it with zero VJ experience?
Getting visuals on screen and reacting to music does not require prior VJ experience. Crafting expressive sets is a different problem, and that is where dedicated software starts to make sense.
