Operation questions

What is automated VJ?

It is a workflow where visuals, effects, and text layers keep responding to music or preset rules without requiring constant live operation. Under the hood: mic input → song recognition → genre inference → preset switch.

Is it the same as unattended VJ?

Not exactly. Unattended VJ describes the operating condition, while automated VJ describes the system design that makes that condition possible. "Adopt automated VJ, achieve unattended operation" is the correct framing.

Can this work for normal DJ bar nights?

Yes. In fact, regular venue nights with limited staffing are one of the strongest use cases. Staff can focus on service; the system handles the visual baseline.

What music styles does it fit?

It works well across house, techno, hip hop, R&B, pop, EDM, J-pop, anime-oriented nights, and many mixed-format events. Genre inference adapts presets automatically to selection changes.

Can this coexist with a live VJ?

Yes. Automated VJ can serve as the baseline visual layer, with a live VJ stepping in when needed — a clean fit for the "automated weekdays, live weekends" model.

Is it suitable for permanent installation?

Yes, especially when you create restrained presets for everyday operation and keep manual controls focused. Rotating background variations weekly or monthly helps avoid monitor burn-in in permanent setups.

How long does staff onboarding take?

If you narrow the control surface to three to five items, a new staff member is up to speed in 15 minutes. A printed cheat sheet taped next to the PC is still the most reliable operating aid.

Can I override when recognition misfires?

Yes. Manual preset switching from the control page lets you override recognition and keep the room's feel intact during misfires or quiet sections.

Can I use this as a stream background?

Yes. Some venues use automated VJ as a backdrop for live streams. Lyrics and external video in streamed contexts have rights implications — see the rights FAQ.

What is the best first test?

Open the demo in an environment close to the real venue setup and confirm screen output, network behavior, and music response first. A 30-minute after-hours run is usually enough.
